New Delhi: The US drug manufacturer Johnson & Johnson announced the start of the Phase III study with the Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday. The company’s move is expected to introduce the vaccine later this year. The American National Institutes for Health (NIH) announced that efforts are being made to recruit approximately 60,000 people in more than 200 locations around the world, including the United States. This makes Johnson & Johnson the tenth and fourth American manufacturer in the world to test the vaccine of the third stage of the vaccine against coronavirus.

The company said in a statement that the test will see if the single-dose vaccine is effective in preventing covid-19. This is bigger than any test done to date with a vaccine against covid-19. Previously, each vaccine was tested on 30,000 people.

The main characteristic of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine sets it apart from other vaccines. Johnson & Johnson claims this could be the first vaccine that can eliminate the virus in single doses.
