New Delhi: The coronavirus vaccine will be available early next year (2021). The Union Minister of Health, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday, “Although a date has not yet been set, the vaccine will be ready in early 2021.”
Detailed strategy is made
Harsh Vardhan also said the government is considering an emergency permit for covid-19 vaccination for the elderly and people who work in high-risk locations. He said this will be done after consensus has been reached. The National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19 is preparing a detailed strategy on how to vaccinate as many people as possible.
In-depth discussion on these topics
During the Sunday Dialogue program, Harsh Vardhan interacted with his social media followers and answered their questions. The Minister of Health assured that due care will be taken during the experiment with the covid vaccine. He said that issues such as vaccine safety, costs, equity, cold chain requirements and production deadlines are also being discussed intensely.
First they are vaccinated
The Union minister assured that the vaccine will first be made available to those who need it most, regardless of whether they can pay for it or not. He also said that he would like to take the first dose so that no one feels like they cannot believe it.
This vaccine helps build immunity very quickly
The minister also gave information about the ongoing vaccine trial and its development in the country. He also said that a safe and effective vaccine would help restore immunity to covid-19 much faster than natural infections. A consensus on herd immunity in a community is expected to be reached in the next few months.
